Opera in the park returns at wafiWafi’s Opera in the Park is back! This time it will be presenting John Innes, who will be performing once again a spectacular arias and a popular montage from the world of Opera, Broadway and Big band swing.

He will be accompanied for the Opera in the Park performance by the highly regarded Baritone singer James Schouten, and British/Iranian Soprano Honey Rouhani. And they will be performing live on the picturesque rooftop gardens of Wafi on Thursday, 27th and Friday, 28th October 2016.

Performers for the Opera in the Park

Some of John Innes, the highlight of the ‘Opera in the Park’, recent sell out concerts include The Royal Concert Hall Glasgow. Here he was accompanied by The Scottish Festival Orchestra and Chorus, following his successful national concert tour.

Baritone James Schouten trained originally as a violinist, changing his focus later in his career to preside as a classical singer on the opera circuit. He has performed in various roles including: Schaunard (La Bohème, Opera Gold, 2011), Demetrius (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Opera Gold, 2013.

James has also been performing and writing in London as a rock and jazz musician since 2008. He is involved with several rock and cross-over projects as orchestrator, musical director and performer.

Honey Rouhani for Opera in the Park

British/Iranian Soprano Honey Rouhani recently made her debut with the Dulwich Opera Company in the production of Puccini’s La Boheme. Honey started her musical journey at the age of six mastering the piano under the careful eye of her father, famous Mehran Rouhani, Composer.

Tickets to the Opera in the Park are priced at AED 225 per person. Included in the pricing is an exclusive quintessential picnic basket per couple. This features delicious Scottish smoked salmon, Atlantic prawn cocktail and gourmet salads. They are served with artisan breads, vintage cheese, farmhouse sandwiches & homemade chutney. This is followed by chocolate mousse cake plus a complimentary welcome beverage per person.
