Family Balancing Via In-Vitro Fertilization treatment

You Can Now Choose the Gender of Your Baby Through IVF

More young couples in the UAE are turning to In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment not only to conceive but also for family balancing, according to experts at IVI Middle East Fertility Clinic.

Family Balancing is the term for gender selection done for the purpose of achieving a more balanced representation of both genders in a family. Couples have the choice to opt for Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) that can determine the gender of the embryo and additionally scan for genetic conditions present in an embryo, prior to implantation through In-Vitro Fertilization.

Pre-implantation Genetic Testing

Family Balancing through Assisted Reproductive Techniques has led many parents to complete their families, courtesy of PGD, a technique that not only ensures that an implantation of a healthy embryo, but also gives parents a chance to have an optimum gender balance in the family.

Family Balancing is offered to clients, but only after a thoughtful conversation with the parents or parents-to-be about expectations for the child prior to the In-Vitro Fertilization.

“Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT-A) is opted by most couples undergoing In-Vitro Fertilization treatment. At most times, couples opt for PGT-A for medical reasons. Genetic diseases such as hemophilia or Duchenne muscular dystrophy could be fatal in boys, which make it a primary reason for couples opting to know the gender of the baby.
